About The Bee Ethical Project

As their team prepared to return to the office after more than 12 months working from home due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the management team sought a new office look that combined practicality and style to help improve the business’ way of working.

To transform their existing office space into a contemporary workplace with multi-functional areas post-Covid, Bee Ethical were looking to partner with a team who understood their company values and could implement their branding into their workplace without losing the home-away-from-home feel. All of this needed to be centred around the team pool table – a firm favourite among the staff members!

Bee Ethical had a clear vision – for their employees to be happy in an environment they felt comfortable to work in after a challenging 12+ months away.  This meant their office space not only had to look good, but it needed to offer areas for both individual and interactive working too.  Keen to introduce a contemporary design, the new workspace needed to be functional for the whole team.

To keep the relaxed team-orientated feel the company was known for, it was important to avoid filling every inch of floorspace with desks, whiteboards or storage cupboards.  Instead, we looked to create workstations which would be transformed into collaborative zones.  To create an interactive workplace with a contemporary feel, we chose to focus on colour schemes, materials and space planning.

Our company ethos and branding is an integral part of our business. Part of that ethos is a sense of teamwork, collaboration and enjoyment for what we do. We wanted to create a space for our employees which felt like a home away from home as they made the difficult transition back into the office.

John and the Plann:d team instantly understood the brief. They thought about the space, how it would be used and cleverly introduced exciting furniture solutions which complemented our branding. We’re delighted with the result and really feel as if we’ve got an office that has ticked every one of our must-have boxes while still coming in on budget!

By opening up pre-existing spaces and installing simple workstations, Bee Ethical were able to facilitate both individual and collaborative working areas within the same space.  Adding a contrasting grey and orange colour scheme not only tied into the company branding, but created an exciting and contemporary feel in a multi-functional office environment.

To ensure we understood the core values of the business and to envisage not only the must-haves, but the nice-to-haves, we assessed a variety of interior design opportunities in a multitude of face-to-face and virtual meetings. Our office interior design team ensured every element would fit within the design brief and adhered to the goal of a modern-day, contemporary styled space that welcomes the companies’ employees and visitors alike.

After multiple nationwide lockdowns, the team was eager to get back into a newly transformed office that oozed individuality but had their company ethos embedded into interior.  As an electronically driven company (not a paper trail in sight), there was no requirement for large, chunky storage facilities. This gave the teams ample space to collaborate within interactive zones that they were happy to spend time in.  By partnering with Plann:d, Bee Ethical were able to successfully portray their company values within their ‘four walls’, to a high standard – and within budget.
