About The DESKGO Project
DESKGO are part of the TOGIP Group, specialists in providing shared serviced resource teams. Serving the local community in Peterborough, DESKGO are conveniently based in Hampton and offer a range of office solutions for businesses and freelance workers; from co-working areas and private offices, to meeting rooms and a café.
The area was a blank canvas and all the space would need to be utilised; finding clever ways to use every nook and cranny. Creating a collaborative modern and flexible co-working space is no mean feat especially when you’re working with difficult spaces. Add to that a huge selection of office furniture options and you can soon become overwhelmed. DESKGO needed partners who understood their goal could help them select the right products and ultimately deliver their vision.
DESKGO wanted to offer the ultimate flexibility to local businesses. From individual spaces to more collaborative working areas and private meeting facilities the goal was to have it all. Of course a recreational zone or two had to be included as well… It would have been rude not to!
DESKGO had done their research! They’d been presented with some very exciting and clever design options from interior designer Nichola McCann of Cann Creative. When they decided to revise their budget and priorities they weren’t sure how best to balance the practicalities with the new tighter budget. Working closely with Nichola and her original designs we helped to guide them through their revised options and helped them to visualise the end result before making their final selection.
The concepts and designs presented to us were even better than we could have imagined. It was a clever use of space. We could see exactly how everything we wanted could be delivered. Amazingly, all this was being done in what we thought was a relatively small space.
When we first entered the building, it felt like a tiny space – very dark and dingy. We knew we needed to find a partner that would understand what we wanted, help us with the vision and, most importantly, make it happen.
Consultation collaboration and communication were key to this project. After an initial discussion and working alongside Nichola’s original designs we created a proposal for the interior with a variety of options and drawings to support Nichola’s schemes. Showroom and factory visits allowed DESKGO to see the furniture up close first-hand before placing an order while a clear project plan with detailed timescales allowed them to plan back from the launch date and build in manufacture lead times. Slick communication with both the designer contractors and the client meant that the usual ‘snags’ were avoided. An alternative fabric was selected when one of their choices was out of stock and electrical requirements were coordinated with the project manager to avoid the need for any re-installation of any furnishings.
DESKGO have created a fantastic co-working space that serves the local community with both visitors and staff loving the layout. The building oozes its own identity and is somewhere people are proud to work. It offers businesses total flexibility (and a change of scene from home working!) as well as the added luxury of popping into the stylish café for a cuppa. By building a team of talented and experienced partners DESKGO were able to take their vision and turn it into an exciting reality while trusting us to manage the entire process.
