About The Total Computers Project
As an established provider of IT services and products, Total Computers supply hardware and software with the logistical capabilities, configuration, deployment and disposal services you would expect from a major IT provider.
As they started to outgrow their old office premises, it became apparent that their office interior was of paramount importance to the future growth and positioning of the company.
With year-on-year growth and increased staff headcount, Total Computers were nearing capacity of their existing office space. To support their planned growth Total wanted an agile workspace that reflected their company values and somewhere where they could host customer events. They wanted workstations, breakout areas and meeting rooms throughout. Most importantly, they wanted to partner with a team who could embrace the project and deliver a professional, vibrant and welcoming space.
It was clear that Total Computers had a vision of the environment they wanted to create. Having met a number of teams at Total, from Senior Management to Marketing, it was clear that they could see the potential their new premises had to offer and had a clear vision of how it needed to work for everybody. Each team had a variety of working requirements and the challenge was to make sure we could tick all of their boxes.
Our premises seemed to be the missing piece of the Total jigsaw. We felt for some time that we’ve got the people skills, expertise, references, relationships and approach providing customers with as good a service as any in the industry.
But, while we’ve repeatedly shown ourselves to be capable of outdoing the industry’s big names, we’ve been doing it from something akin to a League One ground. And that hasn’t always presented customers and partners with a perception that’s consistent with our capabilities.
Over the years we have spoken to many office interior specialists. The approach the Plann:d team took with us was very sincere, helpful and knowledgeable. Visiting our site made a huge difference as did the ease with which samples were arranged.
Through visiting us on several occasions and spending time listening to our requirements, it was clear they understood exactly what we were trying to achieve. The finished article is a testament to that and I would definitely use them again.
Collaboration and communication were both vital elements in this project. We kick-started the process with discovery session so we could understand exactly what they were after. We then translated each requirement into detailed designs & visuals and paired them with suggested materials, fabric swatches and interior features. So that each element could be considered in context, we made multiple site visits before making any final decisions. Conscious of the need for environmental responsibility, we provided a range of new and refurbished office furniture that met the overall ‘look and feel’ of the space. And to help stay on budget, we repurposed as much of their existing furniture as possible.
Total Computers now boasts a vibrant and smart office interior providing a fresh comfortable working environment. It’s rarely just about the desks and chairs and this project was no exception. It was defined and styled by involving everyone from across the company. By not just partnering, but collaborating, we were able to create a personalised and unique office space with a relaxed breakout area; including Play Stations and a pool table!
The best outcomes happen when we develop partnerships and really connect with our clients – and this project was no different. The end result speaks for itself.
